Part of a global movement working to benefit people and the planet.
We have joined a growing movement of companies that are reinventing business for the benefit of all people and our shared planet.
Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, we’ve committed ourselves to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability alongside a commitment to goals beyond shareholder value.
B Corp status demonstrates to the world our dedication to ethical practices and sustainability and will assure our clients that they are working with a firm committed to making a positive impact on the world. This goes beyond us too, as we look to develop more sustainable supply chains for our business and work with like-minded businesses.
As a B Corp, we are legally required to consider the impact of our actions on our clients, our people, our community and our environment. It’s a commitment to ethical accountability.
Every business applying for B Corp status must submit a B Impact Assessment, which is a rigorous application process auditing and judging a businesses’ approach to 5 key areas:
Governance.
Workers.
Environment.
Community.
Customers.
Achieving an overall score of 93, way above the B Corp pass mark score of 80 (and average score of a non-B Corp business of 50.9), we’re very proud to say that the score places us among the top 10 ranked UK law firms. Read more about our score here.
We don’t treat this as a simple box-ticking exercise. We pursued this certification because we genuinely believe in doing the right thing, and we will continue to improve how we operate so that each time we re-assess our score, and therefore our impact, improves.
There are currently over 2,000 certified B Corps in the UK with new businesses joining the movement all the time. Business applying to become a B Corp can expect to submit evidence of good practice in the five key areas listed above while also making legal changes to their company articles, binding their commitment within the fabric of their legal foundations. The process encourages deep reflection upon your business’s practices and can act as a guide for sustainable and ethical development. The pass mark for a business undergoing assessment is a score of 80.
B Corp is something we’d absolutely encourage other businesses to pursue, and if it’s something that resonates with you, we look forward to working together.
