Bal is a partner in the property team who specialises in construction, and advises clients on a wide range of commercial developments.

Bal trained at Trowers and Hamlins LLP in Manchester and qualified into their construction team, where she worked for a further two years before moving to the North East in 2008. Prior to joining Square One Law, Bal worked in the construction and commercial team at Watson Burton.

She has extensive experience in drafting, reviewing or negotiating construction contracts including; building contracts, framework agreements, professional appointments, development contracts, performance bonds, collateral warranties, deeds of novation and parent company guarantees.

Bal advises a diverse range of clients including employers, consultants, building contractors, funders and suppliers on commercial developments as well as developments in the housing, healthcare and education sector. She also has experience in providing procurement advice to a number of housing associations and public sector clients.

Bal has previously been listed in the Chambers guide as an associate to watch in the North East Construction field and has been described by Chambers as “an enthusiastic and diligent lawyer who is tenacious in getting to the right conclusions.”
